Draw a radius around each office
Drop a pin on the map where the office is and choose how far the allowance reaches. Anyone clocking in has their location checked against the nearest office before the punch is accepted, and the setting belongs to the office rather than to the company.
Head office
Warn, block, or leave it off
Three modes, and the right one differs by site. A warehouse that needs strict presence can block an out-of-range punch outright. A hybrid team can be left on warn, where the punch goes through but is flagged for review. An office that has no reason to care can switch it off entirely.

The record does not just say in or out of range — it keeps how far away the punch actually was. That is the difference between a system that starts an argument and one that ends it: 40 metres in a building with poor signal reads very differently from 4 kilometres.

Common questions
Do employees need to install an app or enable anything?
No app. The browser asks for location permission the first time they clock in. If they decline, you decide whether the punch is still allowed with a warning or blocked.
What if GPS is inaccurate indoors?
You set the radius, so a generous 150–200m allowance absorbs normal GPS drift while still catching a punch from across town. The recorded distance lets you see how close each punch actually was.
Can I turn the geofence off for some people?
The mode is per office. An office set to “off” accepts punches from anywhere; a site office can be set to “block”. Someone with no office assigned is never geofenced.
Is location tracked all day?
No. Location is read only at the moment of a clock-in or clock-out, and only the single coordinate for that punch is stored. There is no background tracking.
Does the geofence work in the mobile app as well?
Yes, and under exactly the same rules. The distance and geofence maths lives in one shared module used by both the web app and the phone app, so a punch is judged identically wherever it is made.
How much does geofenced attendance cost?
