Do employees need to install an app?
No. DawamHR runs in the phone’s browser, so staff open a link and tap. That matters for a team on mixed devices, and for anyone who would rather not install a work app on a personal phone.
Can I stop people clocking in from home?
Yes. Each office can carry a GPS geofence with a radius you set. Punches outside it are either flagged for review or blocked outright, per office — so a site that needs strict presence can have it while a hybrid team is not fought with.
Is this a replacement for a fingerprint machine?
For most small teams, yes. A biometric reader proves a finger was present at a device; a geofenced phone punch proves a person was inside your site boundary at a time. The second needs no hardware, no maintenance and no second unit when you open another branch.
What happens if someone forgets to clock out?
The day is flagged as needing attention rather than silently recording a wrong total, and an admin can correct the punch — with the edit recorded against their name.
Can staff clock in without a data connection?
No — a punch needs a live connection, because the server records the time rather than the phone. That is deliberate: a device clock can be changed, and a punch that could be back-dated is not evidence of anything.
Does it work on old phones?
It runs in the browser, so anything with a reasonably current browser works — including the older Android handsets common on site. That is the main practical reason not to require an app install.
